Definitions

Personal Data – any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Processing – any operation or set of operations which is performed on Personal Data or on sets of Personal Data.
Data subject – a natural person whose Personal Data is being processed.
Child – a natural person under 16 years of age.

I promise to follow the following data protection principles:

  • Processing is lawful, fair, transparent. My processing activities have lawful grounds. I always consider your rights before processing Personal Data. I will provide you information regarding processing upon request.
  • Processing is limited to the purpose. My processing activities fit the purpose for which Personal Data was gathered.
  • Processing is done with minimal data. I only gather and process the minimal amount of Personal Data required for any purpose.
  • Processing is limited with a time period. I will not store your personal data for longer than needed.
  • I will do my best to ensure the accuracy of data.
  • I will do my best to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.

  9. Right to lodge a complaint – in the event that I refuse your request under the Rights of Access, I will provide you with a reason as to why. If you are not satisfied with the way your request has been handled please contact me.
  10. Right for the help of supervisory authority – meaning you have the right for the help of a supervisory authority and the right for other legal remedies such as claiming damages.
  11. Right to withdraw consent – you have the right withdraw any given consent for processing of your Personal Data.

Data I gather

I do not collect any Special Category Data about you. Special Category Data is Data such as your race, ethnic origin, religion, health information and sexual orientation.

I do not intend to collect or knowingly collect information from children. I do not target children with my services.

I do not carry out automated decision making or any type of automated profiling.

I may process your Personal Data without your knowledge or consent if I are legally obliged to do so.

The types of Data I gather is as follows:

Communication Data

Communication Data includes any communications you send to me (i.e. through a contact form on my website, by email, text, social media or any other communication that you send to me). Data processed might include your e-mail address, name, postal address etc – mainly information that is necessary for communicating with you or to enhance your customer experience with me.

Customer Data

Customer Data includes Data relating to any purchases of products or services such as your name, email address, contact number, billing address, contact details and purchase history.

Technical Data

Technical Data includes Data about your use of my website such as your IP address, details about your browser, the type of device you use to access my website, your login history, length of visit to pages on my website, etc. I gather this Data from Google Analytics and from my security software. Technical Data also includes information that is automatically stored by cookies and other session tools. When you use my services or look at the contents of my website, your activities may be logged.

E-Commerce Data

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order once purchased.

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

Customer Data

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 6 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

User Data includes Data about how you use my website, together with any Data that you post for publication on my website in the form of a comment or review.

Media Data

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Data from my partners

I gather information from my trusted partners with confirmation that they have legal grounds to share that information with me. This is either information you have provided them directly with or that they have gathered about you on other legal grounds.

Publicly available Data

I might gather information about you that is publicly available.


How I use your Personal Data

I use your Personal Data in order to:

I process your Personal Data in order to fulfil obligation rising from law and/or use your Personal Data for options provided by law. I reserve the right to anonymise Personal Data gathered and to use any such data. I will use data outside the scope of this Policy only when it is anonymised. I won’t retain your Personal Data for longer than necessary to fulfil the purpose(s) I collected it for. I save your billing information and other information gathered about you for as long as needed for accounting purposes or other obligations deriving from law.

I might process your Personal Data for additional purposes that are not mentioned here, but are compatible with the original purpose for which the data was gathered. To do this, I will ensure that:

  • The link between purposes, context and nature of Personal Data is suitable for further processing;
  • The further processing would not harm your interests; and
  • There would be appropriate safeguard for processing.

I will never share your Personal Data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

If you opt out of receiving marketing communications this opt-out does not apply to personal data provided as a result of other transactions, such as purchases, warranty registrations etc.


Who else can access your Personal Data

I do not share your Personal Data with strangers. Personal Data about you is in some cases provided to my trusted partners in order to either make providing the service to you possible or to enhance your customer experience.

Some of my third party service providers are based outside of the EEA (in the US for example) so on some occasions, your Personal Data is transferred outside of the EEA in order to be processed.

Whenever I transfer your Personal Data out of the EEA, I ensure at least one of the following safeguards is in place:

  • I only transfer your Personal Data to countries that the European Commission have approved as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data; or
  • I may use specific contracts or codes of conduct or certification mechanisms approved by the European Commission which give personal data the same protection it has in Europe; or

My processing partners:

I only allow third parties to process your Personal Data for specified purposes in accordance with my instructions and I only work with processing partners who are able to ensure adequate level of protection to your Personal Data. I disclose your Personal Data to third parties or public officials when I are legally obliged to do so. I might disclose your Personal Data to third parties if you have consented to it or if there are other legal grounds for it.


How I secure your data

I do my best to keep your Personal Data safe:

  • I use safe protocols for communication and transferring data (such as HTTPS).
  • I monitor my systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks.
  • I use a firewall.
  • I use strong passwords for all accounts where Personal Data can be accessed.
  • I use anonymising and pseudonymising where suitable.
  • I use Amazon S3 to store backups of my website securely.
  • No Personal Data is stored in paper format.
  • Personal Data stored on my PC is password protected.
  • Aside from my processing partners, I am the only person who can access your Personal Data.
  • A monthly backup of offline data is created on an external hard drive to which only I have access.

Even though I try my best, I cannot guarantee the security of information. However, I promise to notify suitable authorities of data breaches. I will also notify you if there is a threat to your rights or interests. I will do everything I reasonably can to prevent security breaches and to assist authorities should any breaches occur.
